convenient, no longer means mediocre
When we’re choosing roasters to work with at Milton, we always come back to the same idea: the machine matters, but the coffee matters more. We taste a lot of capsule coffee, and the quality gap is real. Some of it is excellent. Some of it, honestly, is the reason coffee pods get a bad reputation. Our job is to sort through all of that and bring people the good stuff. Not just what’s easy to find on a grocery shelf, but what’s being made by serious coffee people around the world. That’s how we ended up working with Café Agga.
At Milton Coffee Co., we don’t expect our customers to be baristas with nothing but time on their hands just to enjoy great coffee at home. Sometimes convenience is king - and with the right machine and the right coffee, it no longer means compromise.
Kenya AA Pods from Cafe Agga
This Kenya AA is bright and expressive, led by juicy blackberry notes and a subtle dark chocolate backbone. It’s vibrant without being sharp, with a silky texture that keeps everything feeling clean and balanced.

This is a dark roast single-origin coffee sourced entirely from Kenya, using 100% Arabica beans. Kenyan coffees are known for their naturally high acidity and fruit-forward character, and even when roasted darker, those berry and citrus notes tend to shine through. The darker roast adds depth and structure without muting the coffee’s natural energy.

Kenya AA is calibrated with a finer grind to maintain clarity and balance while preserving its bright character. It flows a bit more slowly than mass-market pods, which helps control extraction and keep the acidity clean rather than sharp. On our 1–4 flow scale, it lands at a 2, delivering a lively, silky cup with crisp definition.

roasted in Canada
Cafe Agga
Café Agga is one of Canada’s most respected specialty coffee roasters, and what stood out to us is how hands-on they are. Unlike many capsule brands that rely on co-packers, Agga imports their own green coffee, roasts it themselves, and packs every capsule in-house. That level of control shows up in consistency and freshness.
Agga is also a third-generation, family-run business. The Agathiadis family has been involved in coffee since the 1940s, with roots in Africa and Europe before founding Café Agga in Quebec in the late 1980s. Today, we work directly with Stephanie Agathiadis, who continues the family’s long-standing focus on quality and sourcing.
Espresso & Coffee
Brewing Tips
Each capsule contains about six grams of coffee, so how you brew it makes a big difference. Here are a few easy starting points:
Strong Espresso: 25ml (switch #1)
Mild Espresso: 50ml (switch #2)
Strong Coffee: 25ml espresso + 75ml hot water
Mild Coffee: Brew two pods + 150ml hot water
Too strong? More water. Too weak? Go shorter. It all comes down to preference, and once you've got your recipe down, the Line1 can save that setting.
The Best Coffee
Made with Milton
The Line1 is engineered to extract more flavor and crema from specialty capsules than standard Nespresso machines - so you taste the coffee the way the roaster intended.
Stainless Steel Brew Path: For pure tasting coffee with no plastic contact where it matters most.
Brew Chamber Gasket: No leaks or lost pressure for maximum extraction across all brands.
Pre-Brew: Wets the coffee with unpressurized water before applying pressure, ensuring even saturation and balanced extraction.
Post-Rinse: Automatically cleans the filter plate with hot water after each brew cycle for consistent performance & flavor.
We take coffee personally
We restock often from our roasting partners to keep everything fresh. Most customers love these Nespresso pods - and if you don’t, no worries - we will swap it out, on the house.
