The Line1 is designed to bring out the best in OriginalLine capsules, no matter the brand. What does that mean in practice? OriginalLine capsules rely on precise sealing and pressure during brewing. While Nespresso machines are optimized around their own capsules, performance with third-party pods can vary.

The Line1’s proprietary BCG System integrates a precision gasket directly into the brew chamber and carefully manages pressure, temperature, and timing. The result is more consistent extraction across a wider range of capsules, from Nespresso favorites to pods from specialty roasters alike.

Combined with a full stainless-steel brew path from pod to spout, the Line1 delivers cleaner flavor, stronger crema, and a more refined cup overall.

This infographic illustrates the internal brewing layout of a typical Nespresso OriginalLine machine. While Nespresso capsules themselves are made from aluminum, several of the components involved in the brewing process are not. The puncture plate and both the primary and secondary outlet spouts are typically molded from food-safe plastic.

You’ll also notice a designed bypass path within the brew chamber. This channel allows excess water or partially extracted coffee to exit around the capsule during brewing. This is a normal part of the system’s design and helps maintain consistency when capsule sealing or flow characteristics vary, particularly across different capsule brands.

The Milton BCG system replaces every plastic component from the pod-forward with 304 stainless steel, creating a cleaner, safer, and more durable environment for brewing. By eliminating plastic from the hottest, most pressurized system in the machine, the Line1 dramatically reduces the risk of microplastics ending up in your cup. At the front of the Brew Chamber, a precision-molded gasket compresses around the capsule as the chamber closes, forming a perfectly tight seal no matter which brand you use. With pressure contained exactly where it should be, every pod brews the way it was meant to, ultimately delivering consistent, full-flavor espresso and coffee from any OriginalLine capsule.
