Use clean, filtered water

For the best flavor and long-term reliability, we recommend filling the tank with clean, filtered water. In areas with hard water, filtration helps reduce mineral buildup and keeps the internal components performing properly over time.
Your first brew may be a bit short

On the first use, the internal water lines are filling for the first time. Because of this, the first shot may be shorter than normal. Run another brew cycle and everything will operate normally.
The machine starts... then pauses before brewing

You may hear the pump start briefly, pause for a few seconds, and then resume. This is normal. The Line1 includes a short pre-brew phase that saturates the coffee before full extraction. This improves compatibility with a wide range of specialty coffee pods, which often contain much finer coffee than typical grocery store capsules.
Eject pods after brewing, and empty the container regularly

After brewing, lift the lever to release the used pod into the container. Because pods contain organic material, moisture, and heat, we recommend emptying the pod container every 24–48 hours. Leaving used pods inside the machine for long periods can encourage mold growth.
Yes, it’s normal for the machine to rinse after each brew

After each brew cycle, you should lift the lever to eject the pod, then close it again. The Line1 then automatically runs a quick rinse through the pod filter after brewing. We recommend keeping a cup under the spout to catch this water instead of letting it collect in the drip tray. This feature can be disabled in the settings (see the full manual), but we recommend leaving it active. Rinsing is standard practice on high-end espresso equipment and helps maintain consistent performance.
You want a full cup of coffee? This is the best way to brew it

The Line1 is designed to brew true espresso with a single touch. If you prefer a larger cup of coffee, we recommend brewing a double espresso using the middle switch, then adding hot water using the right-side switch to create an Americano. This produces a better result than running the same pod through multiple brew cycles, which tends to over-extract the coffee and distort the flavor.
Yes, you can re-program the brew volumes

Yes. The Line1 allows you to customize and save the brew volume for all three switches. Please refer to the full user manual for step-by-step instructions on programming your preferred settings.
Yes, you can turn off the machine without unplugging it

The Line1 includes a built-in power-saving mode, which can be activated by pressing and holding all three switches simultaneously for three seconds. This will power-down the boiler, cup heating tray, and LED lighting. To resume operation, press any switch once.
