In the cup, Dark Matter opens with dense dark chocolate depth supported by toasted almond nuttiness and a subtle black plum sweetness that softens the finish. The overall profile is bold but composed, creating a creamy espresso with strong structure and satisfying intensity without sharp acidity or bitterness.
This dark roast blend combines coffees sourced from Brazil and Colombia, two origins well known for producing coffees with chocolate-forward depth and natural sweetness. Roasting these coffees darker emphasizes their nutty warmth and body while softening brighter fruit notes, resulting in a grounded, full-bodied espresso that works equally well on its own or in milk drinks.

Strong Espresso: 25ml (switch #1)
Mild Espresso: 50ml (switch #2)
Strong Coffee: 25ml espresso + 75ml hot water
Mild Coffee: Brew two pods + 150ml hot water
Too strong? add water. Weak? Less water. It all comes down to preference, and once you've got your recipe down, the Line1 can save that setting.
