These coffee pods feature Lumos, a vibrant medium roast espresso blend from Alchemist designed for Nespresso OriginalLine machines. Built for coffee drinkers who enjoy bright, aromatic espresso, these coffee capsules highlight the floral and citrus qualities that make Ethiopian coffees some of the most distinctive in the specialty coffee world.

In the cup, Lumos opens with fragrant jasmine notes followed by soft bergamot citrus and a gentle peach tea sweetness that carries through the finish. The profile feels lively and expressive, while the silky texture keeps the cup balanced and smooth rather than sharp or thin.

This medium roast blend is built from Ethiopian coffees sourced from Hara Suke and Koke Shalaye. Coffees from these regions are known for their natural brightness, floral aromatics, and layered fruit character. Roasting at a medium level preserves those qualities while maintaining enough structure to keep the espresso balanced and approachable.

Calibrated Extraction

Lumos is calibrated for a more open, responsive extraction to preserve its brighter flavor profile. The grind and capsule resistance allow it to flow cleanly without over-extraction. On our 1-4 flow scale, Lumos lands at a 4, meaning a very slow, controlled flow is to be expected and helps maintain clarity and structure in the cup.

Brewing Tips

Each Alchemist pod contains about 6 grams of coffee, so how you brew it makes difference.

Strong Espresso: 25ml (switch #1)

Mild Espresso: 50ml (switch #2)

Short Coffee: 25ml espresso + 75ml hot water

Tall Coffee: Brew two pods + 150ml hot water

Too strong? add water. Weak? Less water. It all comes down to preference, and once you've got your recipe down, the Line1 can save that setting.
